5 Daily Habits of World-Class Players

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to all of you fantastic IMN London members! This month’s theme is all about becoming “World Class” in the lead-up to our September speaker, multimillionaire, serial entrepreneur, Kevin E. France.

In this article, the team has compiled a list of daily habits that world-class athletes, business people, and entertainers practice so that they stay at the top of their game. Being at the top of your own game is all about being excellent, and as American philosopher, Will Durant wrote, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Find Time for Play – Richard Branson

Founder of the Virgin Empire, Richard Branson, makes sure that he finds time to “play” every single day. His playful philosophy stems from two core philosophies of Branson’s brand. The first is that life is made to be lived, once you’ve achieved something in your work ensure that you take the time to do something exciting or that you’ve always wanted to do.

The second is that when you “play,” your mind makes connections between ideas that it wouldn’t normally. We’ve all experienced that moment when a burst of inspiration comes to us when we’re focusing on something other than work.

Plan Each Day – Tony Robbins

World-renowned motivational speaker, Tony Robbins, believes that you need to plan what you’re going to do each day to be successful. He approaches this with his “Rapid Planning Method” (RPM) in which you rewire your goals and dreams into manageable daily steps.

Once you’ve completed the process (worksheet here), you’ve developed a strategy to become the person that you’ve always wanted to be. Every day you take a step toward becoming wealthier, healthier, and more giving.

Tech investor and owner of the NBA basketball team The Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, ensures that he exercises every single day. The benefits of daily exercise go far beyond feeling less guilty about taking that extra slice of cake.

The brain needs oxygen to operate, which is carried through the blood stream. When you exercise you increase that supply of oxygen to the brain.

This literally helps you think better.

On top of that, exercise reduces the amount of stress hormones in your body, increases your metabolism, and lessens the risk of a number of life-threatening diseases.

Showering – Elon Musk

Founder of PayPal, Tesla, Space-X, and potential saviour of the human race, Elon Musk, gave this cheeky answer in an “Ask Me Anything” thread on the popular forum, Reddit. A user asked Elon, “What habit do you believe has had the most positive impact on your life?” To which Mr. Musk responded, “Showering”.

Meditate – Arianna Huffington

Founder of the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, advocates meditating every day. Meditation has long been viewed as “new-age nonsense” but a number of scientific journals have proven its effectiveness at reducing stress, improving focus, and helping people lead physically and emotionally healthier lives.

So, there you have it! Five daily habits of World-Class players that you can implement in your own lives (although I assume most of you already shower).
